During Romania’s National Day parade in Alba Iulia, a man launched a drone near the official podium in violation of drone regulations. He was fined 2 000 lei under both national law (Hotărârea 643/2020) and EU drone rules (Reg. 2019/945) for failing to comply with import and registration requirements. The drone was not registered with the Romanian Civil Aviation Authority. The incident led to enforcement by the gendarmerie with no further criminal proceedings.
